Somatic bodywork

“Allow the body to discharge its
Bound energy and embrace what is,
The organism’s natural
Self-regulation. Relax. Breathe.”

– Sakti Rose

What is Somatic bodywork?

Somatic bodywork describes the form of working through the body promoting the mind-body balance. It’s a way to re-discover who we are and to cultivate ways of mindfulness and well-being. This is a process of awakening awareness of your body in natural movement. By working through the body, instead of with or on, you are able to learn to embody the values and qualities important in your life. This is the result of complete integration of the spiritual, psychological, and physical aspects of the practice.

Its main aim is to have an integrated form of life. A balanced structure in your present. It helps you move out of stressful situations or unease feelings of being stuck so that you can feel present at the moment, feeling completely safe.

Benefits of Somatic bodywork?

  • Helps regulate anxiety, panic attacks, depression or PTSD
  • Reduces pain
  • Increases mental balance
  • Increased energy and motivation
  • Increased self-sufficiency and self-resiliency
  • It reframes negative experiences
  • Reduces discomfort and stress

What is it used?

This treatment is mainly used for reducing the symptoms of the following conditions:

  • Addiction
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Relationship problems
  • Trauma and abuse-related issues
  • Grief
  • Insomnia

What does it work?

At its base, it works as a connection of the mind, body, emotions, and spirit. It works at all these levels to provide a unique experience towards complete wellness. It’s very often that traumatic emotional events of a person’s past can leave severe affections to the nervous system, which brings all sorts of consequences to a person’s life. Some of these changes are even noticeable in their physical appearances, such as changes in facial expression, body posture, and physical pain.

Traditional therapy talk effectively addresses many mental and emotional health challenges, but somatic bodywork is believed to quickly address deep emotional issues not revealed through talk therapy.
